A true Story in Valentine's Day how I hated it..!
It started as an exciting challenge measuring properties for architects soon became a monotonous grind.
Gone were the simple estate agent plans; now, each room demanded 20+ precise measurements.
At first, it was thrilling. Growth always is.
But day after day, especially in freezing temperatures, sketching by hand for hours, I couldn’t shake the frustration: Why were we still doing it the hard way manually by hand measuring, when technology could make it easy?
At that time we did a lot of work for architectural company called Resi all over UK, I pushed for change. I saw the future in laser scanners, speed, accuracy. But change was slow, especially for big firms like Resi. It’s hard to turn a massive ship, even when it’s sailing in the wrong direction.
Fast forward years later, and guess what?
Resi now uses the laser scanners for all surveys. So do we.
No more hand-drawn plans.
If anyone insists on manual sketches, we wish them good luck and that we don't want o get involved in this activity 😁.
So this Valentine’s Day, remember: you don’t have to love what you do.
Even a frustration can lead to game changing breakthroughs if you’re bold enough to act on it.
Most of the biggest and more successful businesses are built on solving a pain for their customers, and we do exactly that we measure buildings for architects because I know how it might feel like a time-wasting task.
